It’s a hot job market for college students! A survey of employers conducted by the National Association of Colleges & Employers (NACE) reports that they plan to hire almost 1/3 (31.6%) more new college graduates from the Class of 2022 than they hired from last year’s graduating class. Employer respondents in the NACE Spring 2022 Job Outlook report anticipate that 42% of their entry-level positions will be fully in person, 40% will be in a hybrid modality, and 18% will be fully remote.
If you have questions about your internship or full-time job search, please reach out and make an appointment to work with a UCS career coach. We are here to help!
GAINING EXPERIENCE THROUGH GIG WORK
Gig work is short-term, temporary contract work like freelance work. Helping with a short-term project can help you build upon the skills and knowledge that you are gaining as a Kelley. In addition, starting as a temporary employee at a company can help with getting your foot in the door at an organization. Here are some websites that post short-term, project-based opportunities.
A note for international students: International students are required to obtain appropriate authorization before beginning any employment. Because third party vendors such as the ones listed below provide employment services for another company, it is extremely complex to get CPT approval for international students to do temp work like this. As such, we highly discourage international students from going through third-party vendors for opportunities. For help with your search, please don’t hesitate to make an appointment with a UCS coach who can provide guidance, strategies, and other resources for your search.
