The REACH Program is a paid 24-month structured learning and development opportunity to equip upcoming and recent college graduates, as well as career changers, with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the world of reinsurance broking and Insurance-Linked Securities. You will be part of a strategically critical effort in Insurance-Linked Securities (ILS). The ILS team structures, originates, and distributes ILS and associated solutions on a global basis. We strive to efficiently connect risk with capital both by using today’s ILS tools and by innovating to develop even better techniques for tomorrow. How you will make an impact
From natural catastrophes to cyber or political risks, you will play a pivotal role in protecting our clients’ assets and helping them navigate complex risks with confidence. By immersing yourself in sophisticated analytics, you will provide invaluable insights, innovative risk transfer strategies, and operational expertise, enabling our clients to maintain strong financial positions to cover claims for their policyholders when disasters strike.
Every day presents new challenges, ensuring your work remains dynamic and engaging. As a program participant and generalist on the ILS team, you will:
- Provide trader/distribution support, including trade entry, trade reporting, and trade capture, account opening and management, collaborating with trading and distribution teams to resolve trade issues
- Provide support for new issue syndicate operations throughout the entire deal lifecycle.
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of deal files
- Collaborate with colleagues and with clients at all levels of their organization, occasionally assisting in the marketing, negotiation, placing, and servicing of client transactions
- Assist in crafting persuasive pitch documents and compelling presentations for both new and existing clients and investors
- Contribute to the structuring, placing, and servicing of reinsurance and capital markets transactions
In addition, you will participate in web-based and in-person seminars to expand your industry knowledge.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to build, refine, and transmit documents seamlessly
- Strong technological proficiency enabling you to use various software for efficient task completion
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with clients and colleagues
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
- Flexibility to travel to our home office in Rolling Meadows, IL, for two consecutive weeks within the program’s first year. Rest assured, all travel expenses will be covered by Gallagher
Nice-to-Haves:
- Previous internship or work experience in a related field
- Knowledge of or curiosity about the reinsurance industry and capital markets industry
- Fluency in multiple languages
