Management

This major is intended for students who are interested in the management of organizations such as businesses,governments, hospitals, and universities. Students will study strategic management, analysis and development of organizational design and change, negotiation strategies and tactics, and human resource development and utilization. Students will learn how to: use tools to make strategic decisions, identify the internal and external factors firms face, and apply critical thinking to complex management problems with multiple solutions.Consider a Co-Major to gain additional skills in a specialized area.  Kelley Co-Majors include:

  • Law, Ethics and Decision-Making (LEAD)

  • Technology Management
  • Digital and Social Media Business Applications

Sales Management

Focus on practical applications of sales techniques and management of the organization’s sales operations, providing solutions that are profit driven. This role involves excellent communication and presentation skills, persuasion, and creative thinking, along with leadership ability to develop and lead a sales team. 

Consulting

Perform database analysis, financial modeling, general business analysis, research, and generate reports for the client or project team. In addition, consultants are actively involved in the application and transfer of specific skills and knowledge to the client. Typically work for a firm in the professional services industry on project–based work with an external client.

Retail Management

Promote greater sales and customer satisfaction by gaining a better understanding of the consumers of goods and services produced by a company. Retail management includes all the steps required to bring the customers into the store and fulfill their buying needs.

Logistics

Manage the movement and availability of goods and oversee systems and processes to ensure the right products are delivered to the right location and at a good cost. Communicate and negotiate with suppliers, building relationships outside the firm. Accept delegated responsibilities to quickly move into the role of logistics manager. 

Operations Management

Develop integrated solutions that transform businesses. Manage projects that require complexsystems and application integration to enhance the company’s operational performance. This might include work flowprioritization, tracking of key performance indicators and customer and vendor/service provider communications.
